Ink drawing portraits of two white women. The woman in the top portrait has bleached blonde hair and wears a business suit with a necklace and lapel pin. She speaks into a microphone, looking up from under her lowered brows with a look of angry contempt. The woman in the bottom portrait is seen from a three-quarter view. Her brown hair is pulled back in a long braid and she wears a fur coat and two large, moon-shaped wire earrings made up of smaller indistinct shapes. One eyebrow is raised imperiously and she purses her lips. Behind her are a series of hazy circles surrounded by various areas of light and dark crosshatching, suggesting light shining through out-of-focus foliage. “The Sibyl, with frenzied mouth uttering things not to be laughed at, unadorned and unperfumed, yet reaches to a thousand years with her voice by aid of the god.”--Heraclitus

“Sybils” India ink on paper; 9” by 12”. Unfortunately I didn’t write down the source information for the photos these two drawings come from. The one on top was from a video still of a lawyer or politician testifying; I don’t remember who she was but I was really impressed by the look of withering contempt on her face. The bottom drawing was based on a Twitter profile pic, I believe.
